Mara to Acquire the First Golf Resort Ever

Great news fro Kenya, according to the information that has been received, the Emaar Hospitality Group  which is a property developer based in  Dubai has launched the first golf resort near Maasai Mara and this will most probably improve on the profile of Masai Mara a popular tourist destination in Kenya.

This project will be called the Enkeresi Mara and will be managed by The Address Hotels and Resorts group in Dubai. According to Josef Kufer the Emaar’s chief executive, the Address Masai Mara has fully addressed the greater Mara ecosystem, with the resort expected to be of the highest standards in environment-friendliness.

Tourism minister Dan Mwazo said during the launch in Nairobi on Monday evening that the government is willing to give incentives to entrepreneurs and companies that will heed its call to invest in the Mara tourism circuit.  He also mentioned that investors are entitled to motivation factors like the leasehold land and tax-holiday concessions as away of increasing foreign direct investments. It is so true that Maasai Mara conservation area, in Narok County, is a famous tourism destination but in the recent years, it has been negatively affected by unplanned developments within the game reserve as well as the poor roads thus affecting its contribution to the industry.

Maasai Mara area has got a number of luxurious hotels and tented camps but has no golf resort as yet. But Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition announced in April a joint venture with the Gehlot family who run the Intex Group to establish a tented luxury Safari camp dubbed Mahali Nzuri at Motorogi Conservancy in the Maasai Mara ecosystem and this will open in 2013 with 12 sleeper tents and 2 beds in each therefore accommodating a maximum of 24 guests
